LIFESTYLE & PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER

🤍 about me

God lit a fire.

hi, i’m shailee.

i’m a mama, a wife, a coffee drinker, a barefoot in the dirt kind of girl — and a photographer who believes storytelling can be sacred.

but this isn’t just a creative outlet.

this is a redemption story.

for years, my life was shaped by things no child should have to carry — addiction in my family, deep hurt, and a longing for healing that felt too far away.

but even in that darkness, God was kind.

He didn’t forget me.

He kindled something in my spirit — a quiet flame.

a reminder that light would find me again.

and it did.

it found me in love — in my husband, who taught me how to feel safe again.

it found me in motherhood — through two tiny souls who made my heart grow new roots.

and it found me in photography — this beautiful, unexpected way to tell the truth of people’s stories.

because that’s what i care most about:

telling the truth of who you are.

not the posed, perfect version — but the wind-blown, tear-streaked, belly-laughing, baby-on-your-hip version.

the real version. the redeemed version.

this work is ministry to me.

when i photograph you, i pray for you.

when i show up to your birth, your wedding, your milestone — i carry your story like holy ground.

i believe in a God who turns ashes into beauty.

who uses ordinary moments to whisper, “see? i’ve been here the whole time.”

and so that’s what i do.

i come alongside you in whatever season you’re in, and i document the light.

not just golden-hour light — but the kind of light that says:

you made it. you’re still here. and your story is still being written.

If you’re looking for photos that feel like warmth, truth, and a reflection of who you really are, i’d be honored to work with you.

a few soft facts about me:

♥︎  west texas born + raised

♥︎  barefoot always, unless i’m chasing toddlers

♥︎ fueled by jesus + espresso

♥︎ recovering perfectionist turned peace-seeker

♥︎ mama to two wild babes and a couple of scruffy puppers

♥︎ most at home in the quiet - with hands full and heart wide open

the deeper truth?

this isn’t just about the photos.

it’s about telling the story of what’s been healed.

what’s being rewritten.

what’s still good — even after all you’ve walked through.

you deserve to remember it all.

and i’d be honored to help you do just that.

“i will give you beauty for ashes, joy instead of mourning, and praise instead of despair…” — Isaiah 61:3
